早年經歷

投身電影
40年代末期，退伍後的李投身表演，1米96的高大身材和邪惡的面貌特質讓他很快成為惡魔的化身，隨後的20年間，他出演了大量恐怖電影，代表作包括《科學怪人的詛咒》、《傅滿洲的城堡》《恐怖吸血鬼》和《永眠的詛咒》等。70年代中期，厭倦了以往戲路的他開始嘗試出演主流電影，陸續出演了《福爾摩斯秘史》、《豪情三劍客》和《鐵金剛大破金槍客》等。
闖蕩好萊塢

2013年已經91歲，演了60年電影，用大器晚成來形容克裡斯托弗·李已經有點不合適，因為他在人生的暮年才逐漸被影迷們所認識，雖然他演過60年的電影，但大部分都不是主流電影。直到魔幻巨片《指環王》尋找白衣巫師薩羅曼的演員時，當時已經78歲的克裡斯托弗·李意識到，自己閃光的時刻到來了。《指環王》改編自同名魔幻小說，克裡斯托弗·李年輕時就酷愛這部小說，他每次看時都要從頭到尾重新閱讀一遍，對其中的人物和台詞可謂瞭如指掌。憑借這份精力和高大強壯的形象，他得到了大反派薩茹曼的角色。果然，影片《指環王》上映後，克裡斯托弗·李名聲大增，他扮演的薩茹曼不僅形似，而且神似，得到了影迷們的一致誇獎。連續三集《指環王》落幕後，克裡斯托弗·李已經成為了歐美影壇最受人尊敬的老演員了。
